Where was it?
If it was sitting inside an oven cavity, that’s obviously
significant.
If it was underneath the counter, look for old drawer slides or brackets.

If it was inside a pantry, it may simply have been a storage shelf.
If it was leaning against the wall near the stove, it could have been removed from an appliance that was replaced years ago.
The surrounding kitchen can tell you almost as much as the rack itself.
Look for Signs of an Older Appliance
If you’re in an older house, take a close look at the area around the current stove.
You may find:
An unusually large opening
Old screw holes
Discolored areas on the wall
Abandoned vents
Old gas connections
Electrical outlets that seem
