A Calm, Practical Look at a Common (and Usually Harmless) Household Mystery
Oh, my dear friend, I know that feeling of finding something small, unexpected, and completely unidentifiable in your home. It’s a tiny puzzle that can send you down a rabbit hole of possibilities. That was exactly the case for one person who found a small, translucent, greenish object on the bathroom floor.
At first, it looked like nothing they could name. It was smooth, a little squishy, and seemed entirely out of place. So, they did what any of us might do: they asked around.
The family had no idea. A text to a sister brought no answers. A post on a neighborhood Facebook group brought a flood of imaginative guesses. Some suggestions were creative—a slug without its shell, a piece of sea glass, a fancy soap sample, an alien egg! None of them seemed quite right.
Then, they called their mother, who laughed and said, “Honey, that’s a bath bead. You put it in the tub and it dissolves.”
